Bariatric Fusion recalls its iron supplements due to non-compliant packaging

Posted on June 5, 2015 3:29 pm under Product Liability

About 800 cherry-flavored Soft Chews Iron with Vitamin C dietary supplements are being recalled Bariatric Fusion due to a packaging that is not child-resistant and senior-friendly based on the Poison Prevention Packaging Act, according to a report by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) on June 5.

The dietary supplements contain iron, which can pose serious, sometimes life-threatening symptoms when ingested in high amounts. Each package contains 60 chews, and is labelled with Lot number 14191C2 near the bottom of the backside of the package. The defective products were sold at Bariatric Fusion distributors, as well as other medical stores and wellness centers nationwide from September 2014 to February 2015.

Consumers are asked to return the affected product for a free replacement product packed in compliant packaging.
