Reports of minor injuries prompt Big Lots to recall its hanging chairs

Posted on June 5, 2015 10:47 am under Product Liability

Big Lots is recalling about 16,000 of its egg-shaped hanging chairs after learning that the product may tip over when faced sideways and swayed beyond the base, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) reported on June 4.

To date, the company received eight reports related to the issue, five of which resulted in minor injuries. The defective products have red cushion seats and are made from pattern mesh of brown plastic wicker. They were sold at Big Lots stores between December 2014 and January 2015. Consumers are asked to return the defective hanging chairs to the nearest Big Lots store for a full refund.

Injuries resulting from using a defective chair may affect not just your physical condition, but your financial health as well.
