Raymond Road bicycle-car crash under investigation

Posted on June 11, 2015 9:08 am under Bicycle Accidents

Madison police are investigating a crash between a bicycle and a car that happened at around 7:30 a.m. on the intersection of Raymond Road and Age Bike Trail, WKOW reported on June 11.

The woman was rushed to the hospital after being seriously hurt. Homeowners who live in the area said it is a dangerous intersection due to poor driver and biker visibility. Residents suggest installing a light system to warn drivers and bikers about the intersection.

Meanwhile, Madison Pedestrian-Bicycle Safety Coordinator Arthur Ross said drivers tend to be less attentive when driving on more relaxed rural roads such as these.

Bicycle accidents can happen due to a host of different reasons – defective bicycle components, poorly-designed roads or intersections, and driver negligence.
