Colnago bicycles recalled due to unsafe front brakes

Posted on June 17, 2015 9:32 am under Bicycle Accidents

Colnago America Inc. is recalling about 400 of its Colnago CF10 and Colnago V1-r racing bicycles and bicycle frame kits after learning that the front brakes may fall off from the bicycle’s fork, posing the risk of an injurious crash, the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) reported on June 17.

The affected model numbers CF10 or V1-r can be found on both sides of the front fork. The products were sold at authorized Colnago dealers nationwide between August 2014 and April of this year. Consumers are asked to contact the company for a free inspection. If the hole in the front fork where the brake mounting bolt is attached measures less than 12 mm deep, the front fork will be replaced by the company at no cost.
