Approximately 133,000 Lululemon women’s tops are being recalled because the elastic draw cord with a hard metal or plastic tip in the hood or around the top’s neck area may bounce when pulled and released, possibly impacting the face, according to a report by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission on June 25.
The recalled tops, which were made available in different styles and colors, were sold at different Lulemon stores and online at www.lulemon.com from January 2008 to December 2014. The importer of the affected apparel, Lulemon Athletica, has already received seven reports associated with the issue, all of which resulted in facial and eye injuries.
Consumers are asked to contact the company for a free non-elastic draw cord that comes with replacement instructions.
