Northern Tool + Equipment is recalling its Wel-Bilt brand Little Diggers after learning that the red paint on the toy’s frame contains unsafe amounts of lead, posing health risks to children, according to a report by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission on June 25.

The recalled product is a stationary scooper toy with a base frame consisting of six sides, a black plastic seat, and two yellow plastic grips attached to the pole. The item number #28303 can be found on the toy’s packaging. About 7,000 defective products were sold between August 2014 and June 2015 at Northern Tool + Equipment catalogs and stores nationwide. The manufacturing date can be located at the toy’s scoop.

Customers should contact the company for a full refund.
