A drunk driving resulting in homicide charge was filed against a Janesville woman after a Beloit crash that resulted in the death of one woman and injuries of two children, according to the Journal Sentinel on June 15.
Reports showed that on June 13, Mackenzi Sue Adams’ vehicle initially struck a median barrier while traveling northbound on Interstate 39/90, and two vehicles pulled over to help. Subsequently, a semitrailer truck crashed into all three vehicles, resulting in the immediate death of Jessica Lynn Border–a passenger in one of the parked vehicles. Border’s two children were both taken to a hospital due to serious injuries they sustained. A Beloit officer observed signs of intoxication from Adams and took her into custody. Aside from her charge, Adams was also prohibited from drinking alcohol and driving a vehicle. She was held on a $2,000 bail.
