Why fan belts should be manufactured without any defect

Posted on July 2, 2015 4:47 pm under Automotive Defects

V-belts, commonly referred to as fan belts, are belts made of rubber designed to move multiple vehicle accessories. Usually, the power steering pump, air conditioning compressor, engine water pump, and alternator are all connected to and driven by fan belts.

Fan belts are so important that even a single design flaw could make your car more prone to dangers. In 2014, for instance, Mitsubishi recalled more than 165,000 cars in the country after learning about a V-belt defect that may cause the engine, the power steering pump, the alternator, and the cooling fan to stop altogether, increasing the risk of injurious, sometimes even life-threatening car crashes.

If you think a defective car component has caused you to suffer from the repercussions of an injurious car crash, we at Habush Habush & Rottier S.C. ® might be able to help you out.
