Posted on July 9, 2015 8:26 pm under Fires and Explosions

A homeowner in Colerain Township, Ohio recently suffered burn injuries after a propane tank exploded in the yard, WKRC Cincinnati reported on June 27.

According to reports, emergency crews responded to a fire that broke out at a house along Brehm Road at around 6:30 p.m. The homeowner, whose identity was not released, received treatment due to several first-degree burn injuries. Initial investigations revealed that a propane tank used for grilling had recently been filled up and its supply hose was only loosely connected to the tank, causing it to ignite when the grill was turned on. Responding firefighters stated that the explosion and fire caused substantial damage to parts of the property.
