Slingshots recalled over reports of bruises and facial fractures

Posted on July 9, 2015 10:25 am under Product Liability

Barnett Outdoors LLC is recalling approximately 88,000 Barnett Outdoors Black Widow slingshots after receiving two reports of facial injuries, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) reported on July 8.

The recalled slingshots have a soft plastic wrist strap that may slide off from the silver metal folding wrist brace, causing the body of the slingshot to strike the user when the slingshot’s pouch is pulled. The company already received one report of customer receiving facial bruises and another of facial fractures associated with the issue.

The products were sold at different sports stores nationwide between July 2014 and May 2015. Affected customers should contact the company immediately for a free replacement wrist strap.
