Recall of Heat-N-Glo and Heatilator Corner fireplaces over fire risk

Posted on July 10, 2015 10:42 am under Product Liability

About 2,500 Heat-N-Glo and Heatilator Corner Unit Series indoor gas fireplaces are being recalled over fears that the back of the firebox may bend out and cause injurious fire, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) reported on July 9.

The recalled products have model numbers LCOR-36TRB-IPI, RCOR-36TRB-IPI, GDCL4136I and GDCR4136I printed on the unit rating plate. The defective gas fireplaces were sold at different fireplace outlets nationwide between March 2008 and November 2014.

So far, two reports of property damage and charring have been associated with the issue. Customers are urged to contact the place of purchase to schedule an inspection and installation of correction kit, all at no cost.
