Illinois man suffers burns in Tonica industrial explosion

An explosion that recently took place in an industrial facility in Tonica resulted in one person injured, the News Tribune reported on July 8.

According to reports, 43-year-old Kevin Znaniecki of Peru City was hospitalized due to burn injuries he sustained in the industrial explosion at Triple D Development in Tonica. Local fire information officer Rick Turri stated that they were not aware of the seriousness of the injuries sustained by Znaniecki; however they confirmed that his face was unharmed because of the breathing mask he was wearing at the time. State fire authorities are assisting local officials in investigating the blast that also caused substantial damage to a building.
