Off-road cars recalled over fire safety hazard

Posted on July 23, 2015 11:45 am under Product Liability

Approximately 4,300 Model Year 2015 Polaris Youth RZR recreational off-highway vehicles are being recalled by Polaris Industries Inc. over fears that the recreational vehicle’s defective fuel pump retaining ring might leak and start a fire, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) stated on July 23.

The recalled vehicles were made available in colors red and blue. Cars being recalled are those with the model numbers R15YAV17AA/AF and Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) ranging from RF3YAV170FT000076 to RF3YAV17XFT005141. The vehicles were sold by different Polaris dealers nationwide between October 2014 and June 2015.

Affected consumers are asked not to use the vehicle being recalled and to schedule a free repair with the nearest Polaris dealer.
