783 bottles of Akttive High Performance Fat Burner Gold are being recalled over risks of adverse effects due to undeclared ingredients that have not been approved for marketing in the U.S., the U.S. Food and Drug Administration revealed on Thursday, July 23.
The recalled fat-burner capsules contain Sibutramine, an appetite suppressant withdrawn from the U.S. market in 2010 due to risks of heart rhythm disorders, seizures and heart attacks. The products also include Phenolphthalein, a previous ingredient for over-the-counter laxatives banned in the country for marketing due to cancer risk.
Affected products are labeled with Lot #000185004400, UPC 859189005005, and Expiration 12/17, and were sold between January 2012 and July 2015. Each bottle contains 30 gold capsules.
