Stork Craft mattresses recalled over fire safety risk

Posted on August 3, 2015 4:27 pm under Product Liability

About 18,500 Stork Craft foam crib and crib/toddler mattresses are being recalled by Stork Craft Manufacturing USA Inc. after learning that the mattresses failed to meet federal mattress flammability standard for open fires, posing fire safety risk, according to a report by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) Thursday, July 30.

The affected mattresses were manufactured between August 2014 and January 2015, and have model numbers 06710-100 and 06710-200. The date of manufacture, model numbers, and the company name Stork Craft Manufacturing (USA) Inc. are printed on a white label attached to the white mattress cover. The recalled mattresses were sold at different Walmart stores nationwide and online between August 2014 and April 2015.

Affected consumers are asked to contact the company for a zippered mattress cover barrier at no cost.

Mattresses and other products that have been found to be in violation of federal flammability standards pose imminent risk of injuries resulting from fires.
