Reports of skin irritation prompt recall of children’s watches

Posted on August 6, 2015 11:39 am under Product Liability

MZB is recalling approximately 1.9 million “Light Up” children’s watches after receiving reports of skin irritation and chemical burns caused by the watch’s defective case-back, by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission stated on Wednesday, August 5.

According to the report, the case at the back of the watch may detach, exposing the watch’s interior to water and posing risk of chemical burns and skin irritation. To date, the company has received 11 reports of burns and irritations, six of which required medical attention. The recalled products were made available in 303 different styles at different Kmart, Walmart, Kohl’s and other retailers nationwide between October 2012 and June 2015.

Customers should contact the company immediately for a refund.
