Outdoor patio set recalled over reports of lower back and hip injuries

Posted on August 18, 2015 11:58 am under Product Liability

Injury reports prompted Pennsylvania-based Rite Aid to recall its outdoor patio dining set with four folding chairs, a table, and an umbrella due to defective chair arms and legs that may bend and pose harm to users, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission reported on Tuesday, August 18.

The affected patio sets have Item Number 9034923 and UPC number 011822350303 found on the set’s packaging. The defective dining sets were sold at different Rite Aid outlets nationwide between January 2015 and July 2015. To date, the company has received four reports of lower back and hip injuries resulting from the issue.

Affected customers may return the defective chairs to any Rite Aid outlet to get a full refund.

Defective chairs such as these place users at great risk of injuries resulting from falls.
