A New York-based company is recalling an estimated 1.9 million children’s wrist watches sold in the U.S. and Canada after receiving complaints of the accessory causing skin irritation, an article of cpsc.gov reported.

Reports said various models of “MZB Children’s Light Up Watches” can cause irritation, rashes, redness and/or chemical burns if the watch’s internal parts are exposed to water. The company recalling the watches, MZB, and federal authorities have been notified of 11 incidents of consumers suffering from skin irritation from wearing the watches – six of whom were hospitalized. Consumers who own this watch are advised to immediately return the product to MZB to receive a full refund.
