Scag Power Equipment is recalling approximately 4,400 Scag Liberty-Z sero-turn lawn mowers after receiving reports that the vehicles are equipped with a defective gas tank that may leak and pose fire hazard, a report by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) stated on Tuesday, August 25.

Two models are affected by the recall: model SZL52-24KT with serial numbers ranging from K7200001 to K7202020, and model SZL48-22KT with serial numbers ranging from K7100001 to K7102353. The mowers’ model and serial number can be found on a plate affixed under the seat. To date, the company has received five reports of gas leak.

Affected consumers should immediately contact the company to schedule a free repair.
