Paintball markers recalled due to defective trigger safety

Posted on August 27, 2015 9:23 am under Product Liability

A defective trigger safety prompted the recall of about 6,500 Tippmann model FT-12 .50 caliber and 0.68-inch caliber paintball markers imported by Tippmann Sports LLC., according to a report by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) on Thursday, August 27.

The recalled items were sold directly to distributors and paintball field operators as a marker rented for use by customers. Affected products have serial numbers ranging from 86941 to 108040, which can be seen at the bottom rear of the paintball marker below the hinge. To date, the company knows of three incidents of trigger safety failure, although no reports of injury have been made.

Distributors and paintball field owners are urged to contact the company for a free repair kit or to arrange for a free repair.
