Pink giraffe animal purse recalled due to unsafe level of lead

Posted on September 2, 2015 9:52 am under Defective Child Care Products

Approximately 630 pink giraffe animal purses with brown spots are being recalled by Imagine Nation Books due to a red zipper that contains toxic amount of lead, which violates the federal standard for lead paint safety, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) reported on Wednesday, September 2.

The products, which were manufactured in China, have item number CHJF10032AST found on a hang-tag attached to the purse. The imported products were sold at different Imagine Nation Books dealers across the U.S. and at different book fairs between July 2014 and March 2015.

Consumers are advised to keep the purses away from children and to contact the company for details on how to return the product and obtain a full refund.

Too much lead in the body may result in different adverse effects among children, including delayed speech and language development, among many others.
