Water bottles sold at Target recalled due to choking hazard

Posted on September 17, 2015 11:48 am under Product Liability

Zak Designs recalled their 26-ounce, 10-inch tall water bottles. Approximately 178,000 recalled units were exclusively sold at Target stores all over the United States. The products were manufactured in China and sold during Target’s back to school promotion from June 2015 through July 2015.

There has not been a report of serious injuries, but there were several reported incidents, including nine cases of children spitting out plastic fragments when the plastic bottles were used.

Consumers owning these items should immediately stop using the product and call the manufacturers for guidance in obtaining free replacement bottles.

While any defective product poses serious concerns, products aimed at children can be even more dangerous. If your child has suffered needlessly because of a dangerous consumer product, it is important that the responsible party is held accountable for such an inexcusable mistake.
