A traffic safety analyst recently observed that deadly bicycle accidents have increased in the state of Wisconsin- incidents have more than doubled since last year.

According to Robert J. Schneider, some of the fatal bicycle accidents occurred when bicyclists were rear-ended by vehicles. At least nine bicycle deaths have already been recorded this year. In the 2011-2013 data reviewed by Schneider, vehicle drivers are liable in 58 percent of bicycle deaths. Statistics from the Wisconsin Department of Transportation revealed that in the previous years, an average of 10 bicyclists died in accidents. Schneider stressed the importance of traffic safety and advised vehicle drivers to always be aware of bicyclists and pedestrians sharing the road.
