Pride Family Brands recall hammock stands

Posted on September 30, 2015 2:38 pm under Product Liability

Approximately 14,000 units of hammock stands sold at Bed Bath & Beyond are being recalled by their manufacturer, Pride Family Brands of Fort Lauderdale in Florida, due to the possible bending and breaking of the hooks that attach the hammocks to the stands. This has caused some consumers to fall to the ground and 13 incidents of injuries have already been reported to the firm.

The faulty hammock stand was included in Bed Bath & Beyond’s “Destination Summer” collection. The affected items were sold from March 2014 to July 2015. The steel hammock stand is bronze and measures 15 feet long by 3.5 feet wide.

Consumers are advised to contact Pride Family Brands and will be given a much more reliable replacement.
