At around 5:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 7 in Appleton, Wisconsin, an 84-year-old Fond du Lac County man was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries after an SUV crashed into his minivan.
Sergeant David Lund said that the incident happened in the northbound lanes on Highway 441 around East College Avenue. The records show that the 62-year-old man driving the SUV hit the minivan during an attempt to switch lanes. The minivan went over the embankment and rolled several times. The victim was transported to a local hospital where he remains in intensive care.
According to the police, the driver of the SUV, a man from Kaukauna, did not sustain any injuries. The accident caused traffic jams on the highway, but the roads were cleared by 9:00 a.m.
