Sparkling beverages recalled over possible glass fragments

Posted on October 19, 2015 5:02 pm under Product Liability

On October 15, a voluntary nationwide recall of several S. Martinelli & Company’s sparkling beverages occurred after internal testing determined the possibility of bottles chipping when being opened, according to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. This defect could pose a serious cutting risk to consumers.

The recalled products include Martinelli’s Sparkling Cider Northwest Blend, Sparkling White Grape, Gold Medal Sparkling Cider, and Sparkling Red Grape. The products have a “Best Before” date of March 1, 2018 on the front of the bottles, as per the FDA’s announcement.

Consumers who have purchased any of the products mentioned are advised to avoid opening the products and should return them to their respective place of purchase for a full refund. All recalled products are now being pulled from store shelves.
