E-flite battery chargers recalled over fire and injury risks

Horizon Hobby LLC announced the recall of around 1,300 units of their E-flite Ultra Micro-4 AC/DC Battery Chargers. The product is prone to overheating and may pose a risk of fire, which could lead to property damage and injuries to consumers.

The recalled product is the EFLC1105 E-flite Ultra Micro-4, 4x9W. AC/DC/ battery charger; it is blue with black, blue, and gray faceplates with white and black type, as per the U.S. CPSC. They were sold from March 2015 to June 2015 at Horizon Hobby stores nationwide and through their website, horizonhobby.com.

No injuries have been reported so far. The manufacturer suggests terminating the use of the battery charger, and consumers should contact the manufacturer for a replacement charger.
