Vertical roasters recalled over burn hazards

Posted on October 25, 2015 2:27 pm under Product Liability

This past October 14, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) posted a recall notice regarding TCC Cooking Company’s CHEFS flameproof ceramic vertical roasters. The product is prone to breaking and shattering, which may possibly result in burns and lacerations. Although no injuries have been reported yet, the manufacturer has already received 25 complaints of the roasters malfunctioning.

The product is a round roasting pan with a removable insert and a CHEFS logo at the center of the rimmed base. According to CPSC, they were sold online from April 2014 to May 2015 at chefscatalog.com, cooking.com, target.com, and other online retailers.

Owners of the product are advised to terminate usage immediately. Consumers who purchased their roasters from Target should return the product to the store for a full refund, while others are encouraged to call the manufacturer for a gift card of equal value.
