Tree stands recalled over falling hazard

Posted on October 28, 2015 2:48 pm under Product Liability

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission released a recall notice of Global Manufacturing Company’s 2014 API Outdoors climbing tree stands on October 20 of this year. The cable assembled on the tree stand is prone to releasing and may present a risk of falling to the user.

The recalled products include up to 5,300 units of the model GCL300-A (The Marksman) produced in the batch numbers 9G-0114 and 9G-0614. The batch number starts with “BN” and is printed on a tag below the seat. They were sold at Menards and Rogers Sporting Goods nationwide and online from June 2014 to June 2015.

Global Manufacturing Company has already received one complaint related to the issue in which a man fell and sustained a fractured rib, a sprained shoulder, and a broken vertebra.

Individuals who sustained injuries from defective products like this often have a legitimate claim to compensation against negligent manufacturers who produced the harmful products.
