A California-based company recently issued a recall to about 375,000 units of fire alarms that may malfunction in the event of a fire, a report issued by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission on October 29 stated.

According to the report, the Sure Signal Products fire alarms may fail to alert individuals of fire due to a faulty sensor fuse. At least four models of the heat activated fire alarms reportedly may have the faulty fuse, posing a risk of injury or fatality to homeowners in the event of a house fire. Sure Signal Products and the CPSC are not aware of any injuries or accidents involving the affected alarms occurring before the recall was issued. Consumers who have the recalled alarms may get a free fuse replacement by calling the Sure Signal’s customer service hotline.
