New York-based FontanaArte Corp. issued a recall of about 110 units of their Sonmi pendant lamp light fixtures on November 10. The recalled product poses the risk of an injury because the glass shade disc on the light fixture can separate and fall. Furthermore, the broken glass poses a laceration hazard to the consumer.
The recalled product is suspended from a round base mount and has a bowl-shaped glass shade as well as a 39 inch disc-shaped glass shade attached by either a single stem or three metal cables. The units were sold nationwide from January 2008 to June 2015 by lighting stores and individual designers.
The manufacturer was notified of one case where the glass lamp shade detached and fell. No injuries have been reported as of today.
