A 53-year-old woman from Mayville was killed in a car accident on November 19 at around 8:30 a.m. The Wisconsin State Patrol stated that the woman was driving a 2008 Ford Focus northbound on Highway Z when she came to a stop sign at Highway 49. She proceeded to drive into Highway 49 traffic and failed to yield to an oncoming 2002 Pontiac Grand Prix GT driving south. The Pontiac struck the 53-year-old woman’s Ford on its left side, and the Ford hit the guardrail on the highway’s north side.

The 53-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the scene, while the 48-year-old Pontiac driver from Waupun was brought to Froedtert Hospital in Milwaukee after sustaining non-life threatening injuries.

The authorities said that both drivers were wearing seat belts, and that alcohol was not considered a factor in the accident.
