A head-on collision that occurred around 2:40 P.M. on State Highway 70 east of Big Arbor Vitae Drive on November 19 injured two people, according to the Vilas County Sheriff’s Office.
An official press release said that because of the almost whiteout weather conditions and slippery and snowed-out roads, an eastbound driver on Highway 70 lost control of their vehicle, crossed the center line, and struck an oncoming westbound vehicle on the highway. The drivers of both vehicles were taken to Howard Young Medical Center after sustaining minor injuries.
Responders to the scene included the Arbor Vitae Fire Department and Arbor Vitae Rescue, among others.
