A pickup truck crashed into a horse-drawn wagon on Hayes Lane in the town of Hansen on November 20. The two occupants of the wagon, a 31-year-old man and a 10-year-old boy, both from Vesper, were airlifted to Ministry Saint Joseph’s Hospital after sustaining critical injuries. The 31-year-old sadly succumbed to his injuries at the hospital, while the 10-year-old remains in critical condition.
The horse-drawn wagon was traveling northbound on Wood County HH when it was hit from behind by the truck, also traveling north on the highway, according to the Wood County Sheriff’s Department.
The truck driver, a 31-year-old man from Necedah, did not suffer any injuries in the crash. Authorities have said that alcohol may have been a factor in the accident.
This accident remains under investigation by authorities.
