Reports coming from the Vilas County Sheriff’s Office revealed that authorities were notified of a vehicular collision on State Highway 70 at around 2:41 p.m. on the afternoon of November 19. A vehicle traveling in the eastbound lane reportedly crossed the center line due to inclement weather conditions. The eastbound driver then collided head-on with a second vehicle coming in the opposite direction. Initial investigations revealed the eastbound driver lost control due to ice on the road and extremely low visibility caused by snow. The driver of the eastbound vehicle as well as a passenger of the westbound car were both taken to the hospital for the treatment of minor injuries sustained during the collision. The names of those involved have been withheld.
