All the lanes of WIS Highway 145 were shut down by the Wisconsin Department of Transportation after one vehicle crashed into a pole. The accident occurred on December 13 at around 5:30 in the afternoon. According to the Milwaukee Police Department, a gray Cadillac STS that was being driven by a 27-year-old resident of Milwaukee steered away from the road and hit a traffic control signal support pole near Fond du Lac and Stark Street, just south of the highway’s exit ramp.

The driver was brought to a local hospital after sustaining critical injuries. However, the passenger of the Cadillac, a 28-year-old man from Milwaukee, was pronounced dead on the scene.

The Cadillac’s driver is already in police custody. Authorities have reported that their investigations show speed, alcohol, and weather to be major factors in causing the crash.
