Earlier this month, Nestle-owned Sweet Leaf Tea Company recalled approximately 1.5 million bottles of iced tea due to possible glass fragments inside, posing cut and injury risks to the consumer. A company spokesperson stated in a release that it was a result of glass breakage during the filling process. The company had already received four reports of glass found inside the bottle, although no injuries were reported yet.
The recalled product involved 16-ounce glass bottles distributed nationwide from February 27, 2015 until December 6, 2015, and the flavors included in the recall were half and half lemonade, original, green tea with citrus, raspberry, peach, and mint and honey. The recall does not involve the company’s plastic bottle products.
Sweet Leaf Tea Company advised consumers to call the company for a replacement or to return the product to the store for a refund.
