Several news sources have reported that Nissan issued a recall on the 2015 model year of the Nissan Rogue because of a problem with its shift selector knob. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration stated that the shift selector knob may move from the “Park” position without the brake pedal being depressed, possibly causing injury from crash or even death.
According to a report by Union Oracle, there were manufacturing defects on the shifter rod and the selector knob that made the spring pressure inside the knob uneven.
Approximately 33,880 units of the vehicle were sold in the United States, and they were manufactured from February 10, 2015 until May 13, 2015.
It was reported that Nissan would notify registered owners this December, and repairs will be done free of charge.
