Five hurt in Newark plant blast

At least five individuals suffered injuries in a recent explosion that took place inside a manufacturing facility in Newark, Ohio.

According to reports, the fire broke out at about 1:38 on the afternoon of December 21 at Arboris LLC, at 1780 Tamarack Road. The fire reportedly occurred after a pressurized tank containing ethanol and hexane exploded. One of the five injured was taken to a hospital for treatment of serious burns while the others only suffered minor injuries. Fire Chief Patrick Connor told reporters that responders were very cautious in tackling the fire as the facility contained various kinds of chemicals. Authorities have not released other details regarding the cause or circumstances of the explosion.
