Posted on December 24, 2015 2:58 pm under Drunk Driving Accident

Jason Des Jardins, a 37-year-old man who was involved in a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Eighth Street and Riverfront Drive, was charged for the fifth time with Operating while Intoxicated and for the second time with revocation. Sheboygan police officers discovered that there were previous criminal complaints against Des Jardins after they arrived at the accident scene where a Volkswagen and Des Jardins’ Infiniti SUV were stalled.

Des Jardins claimed that the Volkswagen changed lanes and abruptly stopped in front of his vehicle. It was then that the officer realized that Des Jardins was exhibiting symptoms of intoxication, such as slurred speech and glazed eyes. Des Jardins denied that he had consumed any alcohol, but he did disclose that he had recently taken a medicine prescribed to help with sleep disorders. Hospital records showed that Des Jardins was under the influence based on several field sobriety tests.

If found guilty, Des Jardins may face six years in prison.
