Whey Protein products recalled due undeclared ingredients

Posted on January 1, 2016 6:15 pm under Defective Food Product

On December 23, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration issued a recall of the Pure Whey Protein Matrix and the Pure Whey Protein Isolate products made by North Carolina-based manufacturer American Pure Whey.

The recalled products may possibly contain milk and soy, which were undeclared by the manufacturer. The presence of those ingredients may greatly affect consumers who are allergic or severely sensitive to milk and soy. Although no illnesses were reported as of late, consuming the whey protein products may lead to life-threatening allergic reactions in some instances.

Consumers are encouraged to return the recalled product to the manufacturer, and they will be given full refund.

The recalled whey protein products were distributed to several states in the country, including Wisconsin.
