Reuters reported on December 25 that Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV issued two new recall notices regarding its SUVs. The recall is associated with earlier recalls issued by the automaker.
In the first recall, approximately 353,000 SUVs (2011 and 2012 models of Jeep Grand Cherokee and Dodge Durango) were affected due to faulty wiring on the vanity mirror, which could potentially overheat and lead to fire and burn risks for vehicle occupants.
The second recall involves around 60,000 SUVs (2015 Jeep Compass and Patriot) that are subject to clamps that have a low-pressure return hose. The clamps may be improperly positioned, which could result in the loss of power steering fluid, and if they come in contact with hot surfaces, could lead to a fire.
