On December 30, a 57-year-old driver of a Chevrolet Malibu and a 58-year-old passenger were killed after a stolen SUV fled the police and struck the victims’ vehicle at N. Sherman Boulevard and W. Roosevelt Drive on the west side of Milwaukee. According to authorities, the car accident happened at around 9:30 a.m.
The Milwaukee Police Department tried to stop the stolen vehicle, but the driver refused to cooperate and instead fled the scene, causing the fatal crash at the intersection moments later.
Two women, a 21-year-old and a 22-year-old both from Milwaukee, were arrested after the police caught their stolen Kia Sportage. The two were hospitalized with critical injuries and were arrested, while the two victims traveling in the Chevy Malibu were pronounced dead at the scene.
The case is still under investigation and will be sent to the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office.
