WKOW 27 News reported that a car and a school bus were involved in a crash on Highway 14 on January 5 at around 3:30 p.m. When responders arrived to the scene, a car driven by a 36-year-old man was stuck underneath the school bus, which was being operated by a 60-year-old man from Madison.
The report stated that the car was caught under the school bus when the bus slowed down and stopped to let the elementary students get off of the bus. The accident happened in Block 1800 of W. Highway 14 between Evansville and Janesville. Responders extricated the car and brought the 36-year-old driver to Mercy Hospital and Trauma Center after sustaining critical injuries.
Superintendent Jerry Roth said that three students suffered injuries in the crash and were brought to the same hospital as a precaution. They have since been treated and released.
