A Minnesota-based company is recalling over 89,000 lbs of beef products distributed nationwide due to the possibility that these products contain “wood materials,” an article of the U.S. Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) reported on January 4.
According to recall documents, an estimated 89,568 lbs of “Sam’s Choice Black Angus Beef Patties with 19% Vidalia Onion” products may be contaminated with wood debris. The recalling company, Huisken Meat, and the FSIS are unaware of any injuries or illnesses associated with the products having been reported before the Class II Recall was issued. Consumers who may have purchased the meat products produced in November and December 2015 are urged to throw it away or return it to the store for a refund.
