A male employee in Warren, Michigan, sustained burn injuries in a recent explosion that took place in an industrial facility, an article of The Detroit News reported on January 4.
The employee, only identified as a 74-year-old man from Center Line, was transported to St. John Macomb Hospital due to second-degree burn injuries he sustained in the blast at the Formsprag Clutch facility. Lieutenant Dan Novak of the Warren Police said the explosion at about took place at about 6:15 in the morning while one of the heat treating furnaces was being lit. Authorities are still unsure what caused the equipment to erupt. Novak told reporters that he believes the injured employee is expected to recover from the workplace explosion.
