According to the Journal Sentinel, a 42-year-old Milwaukee police officer sustained injuries after a series of car accidents on North Hopkins Street on January 20 at around 1 a.m.
According to reports, a 2003 Cadillac driven by a 55-year-old man was traveling at a high rate of speed on the street and crashed into a parked police car, which then hit another squad car. The man continued driving and hit a third police car, which then struck the 42-year-old officer. The officer was thrown into the air and onto the pavement. He was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Reports also showed that the suspect sustained injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital. He has since been arrested and charged with operating a vehicle while intoxicated, causing injury, and violation of probation. Investigations showed that the incident was actually the man’s fourth OWI offense and that he was on parole.
