An accident on January 12 involving a 2000 Ford F-150 pickup truck and a 2015 Kenworth semi truck left a 59-year-old man from Eau Claire dead. Authorities from the Wisconsin State Patrol stated that the crash happened at around 4:00 a.m. at mile marker 56 on Interstate 94 in Dunn County.
The initial accident investigation revealed that the pickup truck was driving westbound when the driver, the Eau Claire man, lost control on the slippery highway and hit a guardrail. The pickup truck stopped in the westbound lane of the highway and was hit by an oncoming semi truck, which was operated by New Brighton, Minnesota-based Estes Express Lines.
The 59-year-old pickup truck driver was pronounced dead at the scene, while the semi truck driver did not sustain any injuries in the crash.
