Tristar recalls shower rugs due to fall hazard

Posted on February 10, 2016 2:06 pm under Product Liability

Tristar Products Inc. has recalled approximately 1.4 million units of its AquaRug shower rugs due to the discovery that the suction cups do not work properly and could pose a fall hazard to the consumer, according to a press release by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission on January 28.

CPSC provided the complete information of the recall on its website. The defective product proves to be dangerous, as there have already been sixty cases of consumers falling in the bathroom while using the rug. Thirty reports involved consumer injuries including cuts, bruises, and broken or fractured bones.

Tristar representatives have advised consumers not to use the product and to contact them for a free replacement.

Fall injuries pose a serious risk to consumers, especially older individuals who can suffer extreme side effects from a fall. If you or a loved one has been injured due to this defective rug, get in touch with our product liability lawyers at Habush Habush & Rottier S.C. ® by calling our Wisconsin offices at (414) 271-0900 today.
