Dollar General recalls fire-prone toy trucks

An announcement by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission released on February 4 revealed that Dollar General has recalled approximately 27,000 units of its toy excavator trucks and shovel loaders. Apparently, the toy truck’s remote control can potentially short circuit, overheat, and inflict fire and burn injuries to consumers.

The defective toy truck is orange with black and orange wheels and has a tracking code of 90RWE15, which is located on the back of the battery compartment. The UPC number, 00430000549030, may be found on the bottom of the packaging. Other information associated with the recall is provided on the CPSC website.

There are five reported cases of the remote control overheating, but no injuries were reported yet. Dollar General reminded consumers to take the toy away from children and return it for a full refund.
